Explore the ways we empower young men.
Building Pathways to Success
Our programs are designed to address the unique needs of African-American males. We focus on providing a foundation for lifelong achievement by creating a supportive environment that fosters leadership, academic excellence, and personal growth. Our initiatives are about building a more equitable future, one young man at a time.

About Alive & Free
Alive & Free (formerly Omega Boys Club) is a nationally recognized award-winning violence prevention and education organization headquartered in San Francisco, CA.
Tired of losing their students to drugs, guns and gangs, Dr. Joseph Marshall Jr, a middle school teacher, and Jack Jacqua, a middle school counselor, co-founded the organization in 1987.
Alive & Free’s mission is to keep young people alive and free (unharmed by violence and free from incarceration) and to provide them with opportunity and support to build positive lives for themselves and to move into contributing roles in society. For those young people who attend the Club's weekly violence prevention classes, the organization awards them college scholarship funding. To date Alive & Free has produced 293 college graduates, 80 of whom have gone on to earn graduate degrees.
